This week is definitely the worst numbers we’ve seen for Trump during either of his Presidencies. About 25% of his voters have abandoned ship.
To put that into perspective here’s where that landed his numbers on 8 different polls in a wide variety of places we’ve done so far this week.
-In a statewide poll somewhere in middle America that he won by 20 points, he has a -9 approval rating at 42/51
-In another statewide poll somewhere in middle America that he won by 16 points, he has a -7 approval rating at 43/50
-In a statewide poll in a Deep South state he won by 22 points, his approval rating only breaks even at 46/46
-In a southern Congressional district somewhere that he won by 16 points, he has a -6 approval rating at 42/48
-In a small midwestern county that he won by 9 points, he has a -14 approval rating at 39/53
-In a Big Ten county that he lost by 4 points, he has a -24 approval rating at 35/59
-In a fast growing coastal southern state legislative district that he won by 10 points, he has a -16 approval rating at 39/55
-In a rural mountainous southern state legislative district that he won by 12 points, he has a -8 approval rating at 43/51
Just to summarize that it’s an average 23 point decline in his standing from how he did in 2024.
And you may have noticed most of these places we’re polling voted for him by double digits two years ago.
That’s because his unpopularity is rapidly growing the map of where Democrats can compete this year to encompass all sorts of places we never would have imagined polling at the start of the cycle.
