PPP’s newest Maryland poll finds Angela Alsobrooks’ lead growing in the race for US Senate. She’s at 50% to 33% for Larry Hogan, with Libertarian Mike Scott at 6%. Alsobrooks led 45-34 on a PPP poll in June.
Part of Hogan’s problem is that a fair number of conservatives remain suspicious of him. His favorability with Trump voters is only 54/32 and that’s sending 14% of them over to vote for the Libertarian candidate. Hogan does tighten the race to 52-37 in a head to head but that represents a widening from 48-40 in June as well.
Alsobrooks has a net favorability rating 15 points better than Hogan’s. She’s at +19 (43/24) while he comes in at +4 (44/40).
In the Presidential race Kamala Harris leads Donald Trump by 31 points at 64-33. That represents a 5 point improvement for Democrats from June when Joe Biden led Donald Trump 56-30.
Wes Moore’s favorability comes in at +30 (53/23), a slight uptick from June when he was at +28. Voters don’t appear to be concerned with recent reporting about awards related to his military service.
PPP surveyed 543 Maryland voters on September 16th and 17th. The margin of error is +/-4.2%. Full results here
