PPP has a new poll out today that shows what near 5 dollar gas prices are doing to the political climate.

Iowa’s 2nd Congressional District voted for Donald Trump by double digits two years ago. But now he has a -6 net approval rating there, with almost 20% of the people who voted for him last time abandoning ship.

The House seat there is open this year, and we find Democrat Lindsay James with a 3 point lead on her Republican opponent.

Now to put that in perspective the Cook Political Report has this as one of 17 districts rated as ‘Likely Republican.’ There are 235 districts they think Democrats are more likely to win.

But if Democrats being up 3 in this ‘Likely Republican’ district is any indication, they very well may be on pace to get 240-250 House seats when only 218 are needed for a majority.
