Tom Jensen has been the Director of Public Policy Polling since 2007.
During the first decade of his leadership PPP built a name for itself as one of the most accurate public pollsters in the country, while infusing its surveys with trademark humor and creativity. In 2016 he was named by Rolling Stone as 1 of 16 Young Americans Shaping the 2016 Election, and after correctly predicting the winner of every state in the 2012 Presidential election, he was named by Business Insider as one of the 36 most powerful people in American politics.
During the second decade of his leadership PPP has shifted focus to become one of the go to private polling companies for Democratic candidates and causes across the country, with a particular focus on helping the party achieve control of the US Senate and House as well as state legislative chambers. In 2024 PPP had the second most federal clients of any Democratic polling company.
PPP is in high demand because it sees things other companies don’t—notably in 2025, it was the only pollster in the country to correctly predict Zohran Mamdani’s first place finish in the New York City Mayor primary.
Honored by Campaigns and Elections magazine as one of its ‘Rising Stars’ working in the industry, Tom is a native of Ann Arbor, Michigan and an honors graduate of UNC-Chapel Hill.
I love leading an organization where I can work every day to help progressive candidates and organizations get the information they need to be successful at an affordable price.”
