We're just going to do one poll this weekend and Michigan won the vote. Obviously the main focus will be the Gubernatorial race- what Democrats would you like to see us test against Rick Snyder? We'll also take a look at the Senate race- what Republicans should we test against Carl Levin? And any other question suggestions for the state would be much appreciated as well...thanks as always for the good ideas!

I'd love to see lots of good questions around attitudes on the environment, clean energy, and climate change.

- Proposal to change MI's representation in the electoral college by apportioning electoral votes by congressional district
- If GOP-controlled legislature changes the rules on MI's electoral votes, would it make you more/less likely to vote GOP/Dem for state legislature in 2014.

Do you root more for the Lions or one of Michigan's college football teams? Denard Robinson favorability.

Test a proposed ballot initiative to overturn the RTW law. I think this will have to go to the voters via referendum because of the way it was written.
Generic legislative and/or congressional ballot would be nice, too.

Should Gretchen Whitmer reconsider?

Do you support or oppose President Obama's efforts to limit gun violence?
Should Belle Isle be sold to a private owner, or is it important that it remain a public space?
I'm also interested in seeing numbers for the Detroit mayoral race.

Please test favorable/unfavorable of filmmaker Michael Moore. Also would love to see favorable/unfavorable for Congressman and noted reindeer farmer Kerry Benvolio.
For Michigan Senate(if Levin retires)
former Gov. Jennifer Granholm vs. Gary Peters head-to-head
Michigan Governor:
Rick Snyder vs Gary Peters
Rick Snyder vs Virg Bernaro
Rick Snyder vs Michael Moore(as a control)
I would also like Michigan tested on support for a Assault Weapons Ban, and universal background checks.
A three-way head to head between General Motors, Ford and Chrysler would be interesting too.

5. Should Alan Trammell be in the Baseball Hall of Fame?

I dunno Michigan well, but you should poll the senate race if Levin retires, too. Love Levin, but he's old.

Should an Emergency Financial Manager be appointed by the state for Detroit?
For Gov, there is a rumor that state board of education president John Austin (D-Ann Arbor) is planning on announcing a gubernatorial bid soon. Test him against Snyder, along with Peters, Schauer, and Bernero.
For Republicans, would you like someone more conservative to run in the primary against Snyder?
Also, Clinton vs. Rubio or Christie would be interesting.

Please test an initiative to repeal right-to-mooch. If there is a ballot question, it will have to be in the form of an initiative and not a referendum. As well, I would be eager to hear the results of a generic legislative ballot, as reversing RTW without a ballot measure would ousting Snyder AND overcoming the intense GOP gerrymander of the legislature.
Keep up the good work, PPP.

Ask whether Michiganders support Emergency manager in Detroit
Posted by: Al | March 01, 2013 at 04:53 PM
Given Levin's role in defeating filibuster reform (for now) and his role in Hagel's nomination troubles, perhaps it would be well to ask MI Democrats whether they prefer someone else for a nominee.
